Launched at Intermot Show 2010 this month in Cologne, the new KTM 125 Duke is the fruit of collaboration between the KTM and Bajaj, the Indian shareholder Austrian manufacturer. The series has been heralded since last year's EICMA Show in Milan, through the KTM 125.
The new 125 Duke is part of the company's expansion plans into new market segments, the first of 125cmc KTM for the street, and is primarily for young riders as well as beginners. The bike will be produced at the plant in Chakan in India to those of Bajaj.
With the type tubular steel grid, in collaboration with Brembo brakes, high-quality WP suspension, made a respectable 43mm fork inverted by a mono-shock, the new Duke is definitely a exotic appearance in motorcycles class 125 both in terms of technical and appearance.
The model can be considered a cross Supermoto with naked and presents a modern design and attractive, spicy with a very dynamic graphics inspired by urban art park. Besides the classic color combination of orange / black, the new Duke 125 is available in a black version that uses colored stickers very bold turquoise / purple / yellow. KTM 125 Duke is powered by a new single cylinder DOHC engine refined, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, fed with Bosch injection, which develops 15.3 hp and 12 Nm. Total weight is 128kg and the full race suspension, both front and rear is 150mm. Besides specific fork larger classes, junior Duke presents and a rear tire of class envy in small, 150mm.
