BMW Motorrad assumed the 2015 market to remove an electric powered vehicle with two wheels, already making all necessary arrangements and presenting to us the concept of electric scooter C1-E.
Based on a petrol C1 scooter, manufactured by BMW between 2000-2003, daring concept has an electric motor, powered by lithium-ion batteries, developed by U.S. company Vectrix.
The release of C1, the intent of the BMW was to address the drivers of congested cities that want to provi advantage of a scooter but without all the associated hazards. The new C1-E presents a more compact modern design and scale but retains the unique features of the original model: the roof, roll-bar protection, seat with lateral support and seat belt.
As a scooter who wants to focus on safety, C1-E has an impressive list of amenities such as tire pressure control, stability control, ABS and more. German producer mentions that he has no plan to introduce this model into mass production, but allow to understand it as a version of an engine equipped with environmentally it may appear in the coming years.
This scenario is hard to believe if we think the disastrous sales of the BMW C1, which had suffered relatively steep price of engines and inappropriate. In addition, it can not be legally conducted without helmet and the idea of being on two wheels and related seat with seat belts did not smile too many buyers.
