Yamaha today launched the new series FZ8, which will replace the popular range FZ6, whose models were sold over 250,000 copies of its launch in 1998. Series includes FZ8's naked and semi-hull variables, allrounder's Fazer 8.
Based on current FZ1, the new FZ8 presents a similar design, the main difference being given by far, though it is similar to the naked's entry-level Yamaha XJ6.
In order to provide the perfect mix of power and torque, Yamaha dropped the preconceptions about the engine capacity, considering that the two main categories of market, 1000cmc and 600cmc are required by competitive considerations, such as participation in the Superbike championships and Supersport.
