2009 Tokyo Motor Show opened its gates

CB 1300 Super Touring is the newest version of the 1300 CB range and has a wider windscreen offers better protection from wind, a set of side bags with a capacity of 29 liters and has a bigger right of flying. Combined ABS system is now standard. DN-01 Sedan Concept has received in turn a taller windscreen and a set of side bags, making futuristic cruiser more suited for longer trips.

Honda has introduced two new custom models, derived from new VT1300CX (Fury). VT1300CR is a custom cruiser with a more pronounced retro style while VT1300CS frame is down version of CX's. Honda did not give too many details but all 3 models share the same technical platform.

Last but not least, the Japanese electric scooter unveiled two concepts: EV-Cube, a successor to the legendary eco-Neo Cube and Eve, an electric scooter accessible with real chances to go into production in the near future.

The main new stand is the new Super Tenere Yamaha Concept, confirming that the Japanese working hard to develop a successor model maxi enduro Super Tenere, whose manufacturing was stopped in 1994. The new model will be powered by a 2-cylinder engine of 1200cmc and will aim to attack the main German rival BMW R 1200 GS, best seller for years in this class.



Another original concept is presented by Yamaha scooter EC-F. Being electrically powered, the Japanese had a much greater creative freedom. The result is an organic design, dynamic and very avant garde. The electric motor develops only 0.6 kWh and is mounted on a light aluminum frame that incorporates a charger compatible with any standard outlet.

Yamaha has introduced the legendary Model SR400 stand-injection version, scooter sport Tmax in the special edition White Max and the new cross YZ 450F, completely redesigned model.

Suzuki has not had many updates for the ward in Tokyo, featuring the stand-Cell Scooter Burgman Fuell, ABS and Gladius 400 Boulevard 400 (version for Japan) and the new Bandit 1250F ABS, full version Bandit 1250's hull that will marketed in Europe under the name GSX 1250FA.
